Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book an appointment?

Just give us a call at (904) 731-1711 during office hours (Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM), and our friendly team will find a time that works for you. You don’t need an online account or anything special — one quick call is all it takes.

Do I need a referral to see you?

In most cases, no — you can call and book directly with us. Some insurance plans do require a referral from your primary care doctor, so check your plan or give us a call and we’ll help you sort it out.

Do you take my insurance?

We work with many major insurance plans — you can see the current list on our Insurance page. If you’re not sure your plan is covered, just call us at (904) 731-1711 and we’ll verify it for you before your visit.

What should I expect at my first visit?

We’ll start by talking about what’s bothering you and reviewing your health history, then examine your feet and ankles. From there, your doctor will explain what’s going on in plain language and walk you through your treatment options, so you can decide together what to do next.

How do I know if my foot or ankle pain needs a doctor — or will get better on its own?

Mild soreness after activity often settles with rest, but pain that lasts more than a few days, keeps coming back, or makes it hard to walk deserves a look. And if you have swelling, numbness, a recent injury, or a wound that isn’t healing, don’t wait — call us. When in doubt, it’s always okay to ask.

Do you treat kids — and older adults too?

Yes to both. We see patients of all ages, from children with growing pains or sports injuries to seniors managing arthritis, circulation changes, or balance concerns. Foot care looks a little different at every stage of life, and we’re set up to help at each one.

I have diabetes — how often should I have my feet checked?

Most people with diabetes should have a professional foot exam at least once a year — more often if you’ve had foot problems before. Between visits, check your feet daily for cuts, blisters, or color changes, and call us right away if you notice anything that isn’t healing. We’re happy to build a foot-care schedule that fits your needs.

What is an ingrown toenail fix like — does it hurt?

Don’t worry — the procedure is quick and done right in the office with numbing medicine, so most patients feel little to no discomfort. Most people are back in their normal shoes and routine within a day or two, and your doctor will go over simple aftercare to help it heal cleanly.

Do you do surgery, or only non-surgical treatment?

We offer both. Most foot and ankle problems respond well to non-surgical care like orthotics, bracing, therapy, or minor in-office procedures, and we always start with the least invasive option that makes sense. If surgery ever becomes the best path, your doctor will explain exactly why and what to expect.

How long will it take me to recover from treatment?

It depends on the condition and the treatment — some in-office procedures have you back on your feet the same day, while bigger treatments like surgery take longer and follow a staged healing plan. Your doctor will give you a realistic timeline at your visit and adjust it as you heal. Most patients are pleasantly surprised by how manageable recovery feels.

Where are you located, and where do I park?

You’ll find us at 5819 Booth Road, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Parking is available right at our office, so you won’t have to walk far — a plus when your feet are hurting.

What are your hours?

We’re open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and closed on weekends. If you have an urgent concern outside those hours, call us at (904) 731-1711 and follow the prompts for guidance.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Life happens — just call us at (904) 731-1711 as soon as you can and we’ll find you a new time. We appreciate as much notice as possible so we can offer your spot to another patient who needs it.

Do I need to bring anything to my first visit?

Please bring a photo ID, your insurance card, and a list of any medications you’re taking. It’s also helpful to wear or bring the shoes you wear most often, since they can tell us a lot about your feet. If you have X-rays or records from another doctor, bring those too.
